"Our beloved Iraq is currently going through a terrible crisis where acts of genocide, displacement, agony, and loss are a daily occurrence," said Sahar Najeb, who left Iraq in 2009.The profits from the banquet will go to the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace to fund efforts including shelter upgrades and water, sanitation and hygiene.
