Off-Broadway performance of "Benedictus" to premiere May 30

When Pope Emeritus Benedict flew off to Castel Gandolfo Feb. 28, even New York's playwrights took notice.
The Associated Press reports:

Tom Attea wrote the play "Benedictus" two years ago. Producers say the production follows the fictional Pope Benedictus, who has visions that command him to resign and follow a new calling.

The play will premiere off Broadway in Lower Manhattan May 30.
