A cold hard reality of abortion is that many women feel alone and are unable to find support while they are pregnant.
Enter the Sisters of Life, an international religious community focused on protecting life through engagement. The sisters get involved in their communities by inviting troubled pregnant women into their convents. There the sisters help those women with spiritual and practical work. The sisters also counsel women who have had an abortion and want to heal.
Sister Catherine and Rose of the Sisters of Life will be in Vancouver from Feb. 9 - 14. Among their highlights is a talk and Holy Hour at St. Francis Xavier for teens and young adults, and training on how to respond to someone vulnerable to abortion at St. Joseph's.
The consecrated/active community was started in 1991 by John Cardinal O'Connor, Archbishop of New York. Archbishop O' Connor was inspired to this movement after a visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp. The then bishop-elect was horrified after placing his hands inside the red brick crematorium and feeling the ashes of those who were murdered.

Will they have a convent here in B.C. to assist pregnant women?? Or are they setting up a convent here? Sounds like a great plan if so.
