Dear Pope Benedict: Can you explain why....

If you can get a response to a letter to Santa Claus, then why not with a question for the Pope? Of course there is a big difference in the motivation for the responses: the first is motivated by commercial interests and the second by love and concern.

On Good Friday Pope Benedict XVI made an unprecedented appearance on Italian state TV just to answer people's questions.

The TV program, "In His Image," is a Catholic perspectives show that normally airs on Sundays. Its 80-minute special on Good Friday was originally supposed to include three questions for the Pope, but the number was increased to seven because of the great number of questions submitted by viewers.

Read all about what the lucky seven questioners asked the Pope.
