Chalice sponsors wanted says visiting deacon
Deacon Ron Jenkins of Chalice Canada will visit three Vancouver churches and a number of archdiocesan schools to spread the word that $33 a month can save the life of a child living in poverty.
He will speak at all Masses at Holy Name of Jesus Church on Oct. 2 and 3, at Star of the Sea Church in White Rock on Oct. 9 and 10 and at Holy Rosary Cathedral on Oct. 16 and 17. For more information, contact Pat Deppiesse at the Vancouver Archdiocesan Mission Appeal Office at 604-443-3228.

As a long time sponsor of three Chalice children, I am alarmed when I see the frequent TV ads which must be costing thousands, if not millions, of dollars in fund raising money spent. How much of my donations actually go to the children? To me, it is lining the pockets of a very lucrative business organization and I am considering being more selective of an organization that is thus inclined. This is not the way I want my donattions used.
ReplyDeleteActually Chalice has the highest rating among Canadian International Aid Organizations based on Overall Charity Efficiency, Fundraising Efficiency, Governance and Transparency, and Reserve Fund Size.

Chalice does not and has never advertised on TV, we believe in getting the most to those in need.
