iPad on the altar? No. Or maybe
Will iPad liturgical applications be authorized for official use? It's hard to say. This article quotes the creator of one of the apps saying digital won't replace books, although he's working on the necessary permissions.

ReplyDeleteI don't think it's a reasonable possibility. Powered devices can fail - maybe not often, but it's possible. What happens if the iPad's reason for offering Applecare as an option kicks in in the middle of the Eucharistic prayer? I don't think it's prudent or considerate of the faithful to hinge the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass around a single point of failure like a Polymer-Ion battery.
