Queen of the cha-cha follows her passion at 101

Evlyn Kavanagh follows the lead of a dance studio partner during a gala. She began to learn ballroom dancing at the age of 90. Her daughter Doris says her mother is a fantastic cook, watches the Mass daily on TV, and is still "a terrible flirt with men." Submitted photo.
The term "active senior" usually does not apply to centenarians who compete in ballroom dancing and learn to play Frederic Chopin nocturnes. For Evlyn Kavanagh, 101 years old, all these activities are simply part of her schedule.
