Atlanta archdiocese cites high stakes in challenge to HHS mandate

Here is a Catholic News Agency story reporting that more groups are filing lawsuits against the HHS mandate in the U.S.A., adding to over 100 others.

The Atlanta archdiocese is being joined in a lawsuit by the Catholic Diocese of Savannah, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, and Christ the King Catholic School in Atlanta.

"We are undertaking this action because the stakes are so incredibly high," Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Atlanta, a past president of the U.S. bishops' conference, said Oct. 10.

Over 100 plaintiffs have filed 33 other lawsuits against the federal government challenging the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services mandate.
