Obama expected to announce changes to health mandate for Catholics

Catholic eyes will be glued to President

At 9:15 it is expected that President Barack Obama will speak about new rules that force Catholic health organizations to cover the cost of contraceptives.


Last week the Obama administration announced that as part of its health care mandate that all institutions (including Catholics) must cover contraceptives as part of any health care plan.

After much public pressure, the administration is now expected to make religious exemptions.
