Voting by language?

French and English speaking Catholics divided in election

Yesterday, the Conservative Party clinched a majority government, and today The B.C. Catholic is reporting that there is a significant difference between how English and French speaking Catholics voted in yesterday's election.

This comes after the NDP's dominance in Quebec, as well as advanced polls that showed that 59 per cent of English-speaking Catholics planned to vote for the Conservatives.

Also, Father Raymond J. de Souza wrote a piece in the National Post, disusing these results and how they mark demonstrate a resurgence of the religious vote.
