Pray the vote

Archbishop Miller encourages Catholics to vote

Archbishop J. Michael Miller has recorded a video urging Catholics of the Archdiocese of Vancouver to vote in the upcoming federal election on May 2.

"The Catechism of the Catholic Church calls Catholics to exercise the right to vote," the archbishop said. "As Catholics we believe we have the privilege and the duty to participate in this election."

He went on to say that less than half of eligible voters went to the polls last year, the lowest in Canada's history.

The archdiocese's website also features a special section on the election.
