Canadian Catholics are called to their responsibility as citizens to exercise their right to vote, but in this day and age it is hard to realize who to vote for. The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has issued a guide inviting Catholics to vote with discernment.
The purpose of the political community is the common good. What is the common good? It is "the sum of those conditions of... social life whereby people, families and associations more adequately and readily may attain their own perfection."
The guide can be found here on the CCCB's website. The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace and the Canadian Council of Churches have also released election guides.
