Catholic Church has legal status in the Republic of Chad

Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo, apostolic nuncio to Chad, and Moussa Faki Mahamat, minister of Foreign Affairs, signed an agreement Nov. 6 that recognizes the legal status of the Catholic Church in the Republic of Chad.

According to Zenit, nearly 10 per cent of citizens of the African country are Roman Catholic.
