Little change to status quo in U.S. election

Here is a Catholic News Agency story reporting on the results of the Nov. 6 general election in the U.S.

Montana passed a measure requiring abortion facilities to notify parents at least 48 hours before performing the procedure on those under 16 years old.

Gregory Smith, a senior researcher who specializes in Catholic politics at the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion and Public Life, said it is difficult to pinpoint what effect the contraception mandate and religious freedom issues had on the Catholic vote.
