Fraser Valley convicts create art for cancer fundraiser

Prisoners from the Fraser Regional and Ford Mountain Correctional Centres showed they're not all hardened criminals when they donated art to a fundraiser held for a correction officer's son. B.C. Catholic contributor Karen Murphy Corr explains:

 People bidding on silent auction items at the Hoops for Hope fundraiser for Josh, whose mother is a corrections officer, might be surprised to learn the story behind some of the artwork and small crafts.

"Approximately 35 inmates took part in creating, fabricating, and constructing the various donated items," confirmed Tasha Schollen, spokeswoman for the Government Communications and Public Engagement office of the Ministry of Justice.
